AMANI LIGHT
A film for Amani Light, filmed at Lake Manyara during a wellness retreat surrounded by open wilderness and wildlife. We arrived into a place that felt alive in every direction. That first night, lions fed beneath our tent and a leopard moved through the car park nearby. Listening to wildebeest moving through the dark, there was a constant awareness of how close everything felt.
In the morning, I checked around the tent before stepping out for coffee, still carrying the energy of the night before. As the sun came up, we began filming Marissa as she moved through a vinyasa flow in front of a herd of wildebeest, the landscape unfolding quietly around her.
Later, a mist settled over the lake and a rainbow formed across the water, bringing a stillness to everything we were experiencing. It felt like the retreat existed in a space between intensity and calm, where presence becomes more immediate.
Being there with Marissa and the group brought a reminder of what it means to feel close to ourselves and to the world around us, especially in a place where everything feels so alive.
